U.S. and Ukraine Strike Historic Deal for Reconstruction and Long-Term Peace
By Favoredjane
In a landmark agreement, the U.S. and Ukraine have committed to a shared vision of rebuilding Ukraine and securing long-term peace. The deal, announced by U.S. official Bessent, makes it clear to Russia: any individual or state that supported the war will not benefit from Ukraine’s recovery.
Ukraine’s Economy Minister, Yulia Svyrydenko, explained that the country will maintain full control over its mineral resources, with the state determining what and where to extract. A key component of the agreement is the creation of a joint investment fund, co-managed by the U.S. and Ukraine. This fund will be financed through new oil, gas, and critical mineral licenses, with 50% of the revenue going directly to reconstruction efforts.
The U.S. will also contribute to the fund, though details of its contribution remain unclear. This historic partnership reinforces the commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty, peace, and future prosperity, marking a significant step toward the nation’s recovery and stability.
