Savills Appoints Abigail Jones to Lead Development Team in Cambridge

Savills has appointed Abigail Jones as the new head of its Development team in Cambridge, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to regional growth and strategic land expertise. Jones, who joined Savills in 2013, brings over a decade of experience in residential development consultancy and was named RICS Young Surveyor of the Year (Land & Urban) in 2021.

In her new role, Jones will oversee the delivery of development land services across the region, while continuing to provide expert advice to a broad client base that includes private landowners, promoters, and institutional investors. Her specialisms include the Community Infrastructure Levy, strategic land promotion, and advising on assets within the education sector.

Returning from maternity leave, Jones expressed appreciation for the support of her colleagues and spoke positively about the market outlook. “With ongoing government focus on housing and infrastructure, Cambridge and the wider East of England present significant opportunities for sustainable development,” she said.

According to recent Savills research, development land values in the East of England have remained relatively stable in 2025, with the Cambridge team completing several transactions in the first half of the year. Additional consented and strategic land opportunities are expected to come to market in the months ahead.

Jones highlighted the team’s increasing involvement in identifying innovative delivery strategies for both residential and mixed-use schemes. “Our aim is to continue aligning our services with the evolving needs of clients and the wider market,” she noted.

Tom Fraser, head of Savills Cambridge, welcomed the appointment, stating: “Abigail’s leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to client service make her exceptionally well suited to this role. The Development team is poised for continued success under her guidance.”
