Sagay City’s Ecotourism Shines with TPB’s Support for Lapus Lapus Conservation Area

By Favoredjane

Sagay City in Negros Occidental is taking significant steps to promote sustainable tourism with the help of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB). The TPB has provided vital marketing and material support to the Lapus Lapus-Macapagao Local Conservation Area (LCA), elevating it as a must-visit ecotourism destination.

Known for its pristine marine ecosystems and diverse wildlife, the LCA is quickly becoming a hub for ecotourism. The city government is actively pushing the area as a sustainable travel destination, where local communities play a central role in preserving the environment while benefiting from tourism.

As part of its support, the TPB has donated two three-seater kayaks to the Lapus Lapus Floating Cottages Association, enhancing the experience for visitors exploring the area’s scenic waterways. These kayaks are just one of several contributions from TPB, which also includes uniforms, catering materials, and communication equipment.

This collaboration underscores Sagay City’s commitment to sustainable ecotourism, ensuring that its natural wonders are preserved for future generations while boosting the local economy.
