HREHA Moves to Curb Exploitative Rent Hikes, Pledges Tenant Protection

HRERA has issued a firm warning to landlords and property agents accused of imposing unjustifiable rent increases on tenants. During a live interview HRERA emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting residents from exploitative rental practices.

The timing of this intervention is critical, as many residents face sharp rent hikes amidst stagnant incomes and rising living costs. Reports of rent increases exceeding 50%, often without proper justification or notice, have fueled widespread concern and calls for regulatory action.
