Cheyne Capital and Stanhope Unveil £375m Red Lion Court Development on London’s South Bank

Cheyne Capital and Stanhope have announced a strategic partnership to deliver the £375 million Red Lion Court development, a landmark 250,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme set to revitalise a key stretch of London’s South Bank. The consented project will provide 11 storeys of high-quality office and retail space, prominently positioned along the River Thames.

Located in the heart of Bankside, Red Lion Court is designed to meet the evolving demands of modern occupiers. The scheme will offer flexible, future-ready office floorplates, alongside carefully curated retail and leisure space at ground level. With uninterrupted river views and direct access to the Thames Path, the development is poised to become a flagship destination for both business and community use.

Sustainability is at the core of the project’s design and delivery. The building will target industry-leading accreditations, including BREEAM Outstanding and a 5-star NABERS UK energy rating. These benchmarks reflect the project’s alignment with Cheyne Capital and Stanhope’s shared commitment to ESG principles, delivering an environmentally responsible and operationally efficient workspace.

The joint venture combines Cheyne Capital’s institutional investment strength with Stanhope’s proven track record in managing complex urban regeneration schemes. This collaboration aims to create a development of lasting value, both commercially and socially, contributing to the long-term transformation of London’s commercial core.

A central focus of the project will be the activation of the public realm. The design incorporates new landscaped areas and enhanced pedestrian access, creating a seamless extension of the Thames Path and improving connectivity throughout the South Bank. The inclusion of retail and leisure offerings is expected to foster a lively, accessible environment beyond traditional office hours.

Construction is scheduled to commence in late 2025, with completion anticipated in 2027. Upon delivery, Red Lion Court will represent a new standard for sustainable riverside development in London, supporting the capital’s growth as a leading global centre for business, innovation, and urban regeneration.
