AMWAJ Development Unveils Landmark Sustainability Initiative: YALLA BEENA! Preserving the Pollinators of the UAE

Pioneering a New Era of Purpose-Driven Real Estate in the UAE

As it prepares to launch its third and most luxurious community in May 2025, AMWAJ Development, the real estate arm of Aurora Prime Investment Group (API), is taking bold steps to redefine the intersection of urban development and environmental stewardship. With a firm commitment to sustainability, AMWAJ proudly announces its flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme:
“YALLA BEENA! Preserving the Pollinators of the UAE.”

Carrying the poignant slogan “small wings, big purpose,” the initiative is more than a nod to nature, it is a strategic, action-oriented response to the critical decline in pollinator populations, an issue exacerbated by rapid urbanisation and climate change.

Luxury Living with a Purpose

Following its successful entry into the market with two mid-luxury developments, AMWAJ is now elevating its offering with high-value, master-planned luxury communities. However, what sets the developer apart is not just architectural ambition, it is the integration of ecological consciousness at every stage.

“Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at AMWAJ,”
said Aida Al Shehabi, Chief Operating Officer of AMWAJ Development.
“This initiative reflects our broader vision to create communities that are not only intelligently designed, but also environmentally responsible. Through collaborations like this, we’re proving that real estate development and ecological stewardship can and must go hand in hand.”

A Multi-Stakeholder Approach to Ecological Impact

Developed in collaboration with Green Gardenia Landscaping and One Hive Group the sustainability pioneers behind the Hatta Honey Bee Discovery Centre YALLA BEENA! brings together urban developers, landscape architects, and environmental scientists to protect and promote native pollinators, particularly the UAE’s native honeybee, Apis mellifera.

Three thriving hives, each home to approximately 60,000 bees, have been adopted within the Hatta ecosystem, where they play an essential role in pollinating local flora, boosting biodiversity, and securing regional food systems. Every bee can pollinate up to 5,000 flowers per day, a staggering natural workforce sustaining 75–80% of fruits and vegetables.

“Our work is about creating landscapes that give back to nature,”
said Valentina Orejuela-Correa, Sustainability Engineer at Green Gardenia Landscaping.
“With the support of Hatta Honey, we’re not just greening the city, we’re engineering ecosystems that support biodiversity, educate communities, and deliver measurable impact aligned with the UAE’s long-term sustainability goals.”

Education, Engagement, and ESG Integration

The programme’s execution will be led by One Hive Group, with a robust framework that includes hive management, biodiversity tracking, educational training, and carbon footprint reporting. An environmental symposium is also in the pipeline, further solidifying the initiative’s educational and community-building goals.

“Marketing today isn’t just about visibility, it’s about values,”
said Nathalie Nasr, Marketing Manager at API.
“YALLA BEENA! is a purpose-driven campaign that turns even a corporate gift into a meaningful act of conservation. It is storytelling, brand action, and community engagement rolled into one and it’s an invitation for others to join us in adopting hives and safeguarding our pollinators.”

A Measurable Contribution to Global Goals

The initiative directly supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 13 – Climate Action
  • SDG 15 – Life on Land
  • SDG 4 – Quality Education
  • SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals

These aren’t just aspirational markers; they’re embedded into AMWAJ’s operational philosophy and long-term vision for regenerative, responsible growth.

Reimagining Real Estate: From Buildings to Biodiversity

As AMWAJ embarks on its next phase of growth, the company is making a bold statement: the future of luxury is not just smart, elegant, or exclusive, it’s sustainable.

Through YALLA BEENA!, AMWAJ is proving that a luxury lifestyle can exist in harmony with the natural world. In doing so, it’s not just building homes, it’s building a legacy.

Join the movement. Support the pollinators. Build with purpose.
