Green Light for Block H: Brentford’s Riverside Transformation Moves Ahead

A bold new vision for Brentford has taken a major leap forward. Hounslow Council has officially approved Block H an integral part of the Brentford Waterside regeneration setting the stage for a dynamic transformation of the area along the Thames. Spearheaded by developer Ballymore, this ambitious development promises to breathe new life into the historic riverside, turning it into a thriving hub of homes, culture, and commerce.

The wider masterplan will deliver up to 111,821 square metres of mixed-use space, including 876 new homes, vibrant retail outlets, flexible workspaces, and leisure destinations. Designed to reconnect Brentford with its waterfront roots, the project blends modern urban living with natural beauty and historic charm. It’s not just development, it’s reinvention.

Block H will rise on the site of Jupp’s Wharf, bringing a mix of stylish new homes and inviting commercial spaces. A standout feature is the riverside terrace, home to cafes and restaurants with views across the water perfect for weekend brunches, riverside strolls, or sunset drinks. The building’s design is closely tied to surrounding blocks (G, I, and J), forming a cohesive and attractive architectural presence.

Perhaps most exciting is the extension of the Thames Path, which will now wind around the building, enhancing walkability and offering a seamless connection to the river. Whether for jogging, cycling, or simply soaking in the views, the new path is set to become a favourite spot for locals and visitors alike.

Phase 1 of the project will introduce 323 homes, retail units, a new energy centre, parking facilities, and upgraded public areas. With improved pedestrian flow and vehicle access, the development aims to create a lively, inclusive environment where community can flourish.

Brentford’s future is looking brighter than ever. With Block H now approved, the riverside is ready to re-emerge not just as a place to live, but as a destination to experience, explore, and enjoy.
