EasyGroup Appeals Trademark Ruling in Dispute with Easy Live Auction

EasyGroup, the company behind the well-known easyJet brand, has announced it will appeal a recent trademark ruling that favoured Easy Live Auction, an independent UK-based online auction platform. The case centres on the use of the word “easy,” with EasyGroup claiming that Easy Live’s name infringes on its longstanding brand identity and risks confusing consumers.

In the initial ruling, the court concluded that Easy Live operated in a distinctly different sector and that its use of “easy” was unlikely to mislead or confuse the public.
