PITTSBURGH, A man is in critical condition after falling from the 21-foot-high Clemente Wall in right field at PNC Park during Wednesday night’s game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs.

The fall happened moments after Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen hit a two-run double in the seventh inning. Players from both teams quickly signaled for medical help as the man lay on the warning track.

Medical staff from the Pirates, Cubs, and PNC Park responded immediately, tending to the man for about five minutes before he was transported off the field on a cart. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital’s trauma center.

Pittsburgh Public Safety confirmed on Thursday that the incident is being treated as accidental.
